Well I have to give back my Ipod touch now and that seems kinda sad. I really liked learning how to use the Ipod. My students really enjoyed using it and one of their favorite apps was the math lite app. They liked playing the math games and felt a surge of pride when they would beat their own score. I saw my students gain valuable math skills as they played the games. Another fun app the kids liked was the chictionary app. This is a fun game that builds literacy skills and vocabulary.
My favorite part about using the Ipod was the voice recording feature. I liked it so well I had to go get the new Iphone 4. I love this tool and before erasing my touch I put many of the apps that I had on it onto my phone. I plan to spend more time learning to use the applications to teach the students in my classroom.
I want to have a station in my classroom that is a touch station that allows students to use the touch on a daily basis. I would like to incorporate the ibooks section that allows students to listen to books I can check out of the library. My work with the Itouch was beneficial.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Marianne Williamson

- Welcome to my Blog! I am a student teacher in the K-8 Tcert program at the University of Wasington Bothell Campus. While I am very excited and enthusiastic to get into the classroom, I cycle through stages of fear and doubt, sometimes feeling confident, sometimes feeling inadequate. I hope my role as a teacher allows me to create a classroom that builds interesting, creative, curriculum that is fun and relevant. I hope I can create a classroom community that nurtures students and gets them interested in school. I hope I can cultivate caring, trusting, relationships with my students’ that encourages the creation of knowledge. I worry I will not know how to build these important connections with my students.
